Dr. Kirksey's book, Sound Biblical Preaching, is a must read for every preacher who takes seriously the biblical instruction to “preach the Word.” To “rightly divide the Word of Truth” means to cut it straight. Kirksey cuts it straight and his book is a powerful resource for those who want to practice sound biblical preaching in the 21st century.

"Unfortunately, many who surrender to the "ministry" today do not have a clear calling to preach. Sound Biblical Preaching will help settle that issue. While I was reading, the fire stirred within me to preach the Word. Sound Biblical Preaching clarifies the call and provides a motivation to preach."

First Vice-President of the Southern Baptist Convention

FROM THE FOREWORD
“My good friend, Franklin L. Kirksey, has written an excellent book on Biblical preaching for those desiring to enter the Christian ministry as well as those of us who have logged many years as preachers and teachers. The work is a good testimony to careful reading and research. In fact, it is a veritable anthology--the Greek term for “flower gathering.” Dr. Kirksey has surveyed the best evangelical gardens and picked some of the best flowers on the subject of preaching. In a day of poor preaching generally, and rare preaching expositorily SOUND BIBLICAL PREACHING is a welcome contribution to the high and holy calling to “rightly divide the word of truth.” May God use and bless this work to the glory of His Name. . . . I pray for a wide readership, especially from pastors.”
Dr. Stephen F. Olford, Founder and Senior Lecturer of the Stephen Olford Center for Biblical Preaching, Memphis, Tennessee, has served as minister of both Duke Street Baptist Church in Richmond Surrey, England, and the famed Calvary Baptist Church in New York City. Dr. Olford has authored numerous books and booklets to include his 7 volume Institute for Biblical Preaching and Anointed Expository Preaching that he co-authored with his son Dr. David L. Olford.
FROM THE PREFACE
"Dr. Kirksey, by his extensive research, has accumulated a great deal of godly wisdom in his forthcoming book, Sound Biblical Preaching: Giving the Bible a Voice, gleaned from a large number of godly men of considerable experience, who over many years have been involved in the ministry of preaching the Word of God. I feel sure that all who have recognized the call of God to proclaim Jesus as the Living Word, by giving utterance to the written Word in the language of the spoken Word, (preaching) would find much to encourage, and much from which to profit in the reading of this helpful book."
Major W. Ian Thomas, Founder and General Director, Torchbearers of the Capernwray Missionary Fellowship, Inc. headquartered at Capernwray Hall, Carnforth, England. Thomas is author of The Mystery of Godliness, The Saving Life of Christ, If I Perish, I Perish and The Indwelling Life of Christ:All of Him in All of Me.
